Coaching PhilosophyTo promote the love of the game! Working with younger age groups the focus is not only on developing fundamentals, court awareness, and making smart plays, but on building individual confidence and bonding as a team. One of my favorite things about coaching club, is each season is unique. I take time to learn about each player and how I can improve their game while improving the team as a whole. I love seeing the progression through the season and can honestly say that not only do the girls learn so much, I, Myself learn something new from each season and every team I coach.
Playing Experience
1997-2000: Highschool: Gwynedd Mercy Academy: setter
1997-2000: Outsiders Volleyball Club: setter/libero
2001-2004: Catholic University of America: libero
Although that was many moons ago, I continue to play for fun!
Honestly, too many to count! When I was in high school, I helped coach CYO at St. Genevieve's School. I coached the Varsity B team and had a player who struggled throughout the season to make a serve. I kept working with her and each practice/game she got a little bit closer. At the end of our season, she stepped back on the service line and finally made her serve over. She was so excited, but what I loved the most is how all of her teammates cheered her on throughout the whole season, and were jumping for joy to celebrate with her when she finally made that serve!

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church....a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes."
