Summer tryouts (15U-18U)

NEW for 2025.  ALL 15U-18U teams will conduct tryouts on the weekend of July 18-19-20, 2025.

Friday, July 18 - 17U & 18U Tryouts - Sessions run from 6pm-10pm
Saturday, July 19 - 15U Tryouts - Sessions run from 8:30am - 4:30pm
Sunday, July 20 - 16U Tryouts - Sessions run from 8:30am - 2:30pm
Sunday, July 20 - 15U  Callbacks - Sessions run from 5pm - 8:30pm
Sunday, July 20 - 17U & 18U  Callbacks - Sessions run from 5pm - 8:30pm-10pm

To obtain an AAU membership click here.  Choose "Youth Athlete Membership", "Regular".  $20 fee to AAU that covers 8/31/2022-8/31/2023. 

Everyone must have a membership to play, and past TNT players MUST renew.  Last year's membership has expired.  The TNT club code is W34DED.  Please associate with this club code.

All Open gym events to be held at the TNT Armory located at 417 Caredean Drive, Horsham, PA.
 
TNT...where more available gym time means more play time for the athletes!

Summer Open Gym Schedule (15U-18U)

Open gyms are a FREE way to check out TNT.  There is no TNT fee to participate in an open gym.  (Fine Print....you do need to purchase a $20 AAU Youth Athlete membership good until August, 2025...so sorry).

Open gym attendance is not mandatory to be considered for a TNT team, but if you are new to TNT, and no TNT coaches know you, it is STRONGLY recommended to attend multiple Open Gym events to get to know the coaches and have them get to know you.  The easiest way to get overlooked at tryouts is to never have been seen by a coach or the club.

Please Note:  AAU membership is required for insurance reasons.  AAU Memberships from last year expired on August, 31.  Unless you purchased a new one in the past 3 weeks, you need to purchase a new AAU membership.  Please associate membership with Club Code W34DED

Fall tryouts (15U-18U)

If we need to hold tryouts in November for 15U-18U teams, they would be held on November 7-8-9, 2025. 
Did we make it clear that you should NOT count on spots being available in November?  

Summer Tryout FAQ

Are 12U, 13U and 14U holding tryouts in July also?  NO!   12U-14U Tryouts are October 17-18-19, 2025. 

What if we are on vacation during tryouts?  We get it.  Summers are for family vacations...unless you are USA volleyball.  If you are not able to make yourself available for the tryout for your age group, you have a few options.  

IMPORTANT! First and foremost, still register for tryouts!  If you are not registered, you will NOT be evaluated and will not be on the list of athletes used to form teams.

Then, if you can't make the tryout, here are your options:

1) We can evaluate you during another group during tryout weekend.  Contact us at [email protected] to let us know and we will make a note to evaluate you during another tryout session.

2) We can evaluate you during an open gym event.  This is not ideal, but we can certainly send coached to the open gym session to evaluate you.  Keep in mind that you may not have the same coaches present as those at tryouts, and you may not get to play with the same girls at the actual tryout.  We can make this work, but we suggest coming to every open gym possible and discussing your situation with the coaches so they know to evaluate you.

3) If you can't make the tryout, and can't make the open gym all hope is not lost.  If you have played for TNT in the past, we can talk to your coaches to get an evaluation.  You can send game video that we can use to evaluate.  This is by far the least desirable option, but if you are in constant communication with us, it can work.

Will there be any 15U-18U teams offered in November 2025?  Maybe?  But don't count on it.  Our goal is to offer out all of our 15U-18U teams in July.  If we are not able to do this, or if we find more space and coaches between July and November, it is possible that we hold a November tryout to fill those teams.    If you REALLY want to play club volleyball in 2025-2026, you are STRONGLY encouraged to attend the July tryouts OR make arrangements to be evaluated in July.

Will you be holding open spots on teams for a tryout in November 2025?  Not unless we don't find enough players to fill the team in July.  If you are expecting spots to be available in November, you may be sadly disappointed.  

How many teams will you form at each age level?  TBD, but we expect something similar to the 2024-2025 season which was as follows:
15U - Platinum (1), National (3), Travel (4)
16U - Platinum (1), National (3), Travel (2)
17U - Platinum (1), National (1), Travel (2)
18U -  National/Travel (1-2)

Will prices be posted before tryouts?  Prices will 100% be posted as part of the Tryout Flyers that we will publish prior to tryouts. 

Will schedules be posted before tryouts?  We will post a sample schedule that we anticipate for each team.  However, we are not able to post exact schedules because registration for events will not yet be available at that time. While we expect the sample schedule to end up being very close to the actual schedule, sometimes we are not able to enter some events and will need to replace events with similar choices.

Will coaches be posted before tryouts?  We will post what we know, but it is unlikely that we will know every coach on every team.   Remember, it is summer for the coaches as well, and many of them will have just returned from Nationals, taking time to re-connect with their families.  We do, however, expect to know all of the head coaches for the Platinum and National teams.  So while we hope to know many, if not all, of the travel coaches, we may not know them all by mid-July.

Are we allowed to "Play Up"?  We evaluate requests to "Play Up" on a case by case basis.  If the athlete is expected to be in the starting 6 of the higher level team, and the coaches, players and club administration agree that it is a good fit, we will allow playing up.   In most cases, it is beneficial for the athlete to play with her designated age group.

Do you extend Early Offers?  NO!  We believe it is unethical to take your money for tryouts when we have already picked our teams. Tryouts will be conducted fairly and unbiased.

Do you extend "Loyalty" Offers?  NO! A loyalty offer is a way for a club to get you to agree to join them without telling you the team, coach, prices, etc.  We will not hold you hostage and force you to accept an offer unless we can tell you which team the offer is for.  If other clubs present a loyalty offer to you, be sure to ask fi you can decline the offer if you don't make the team you are expecting to make.

There are multiple tryout sessions listed for each age group.  How do we know which one to attend?  TNT will send you the Session time you are assigned to approximately 5-7 days before the tryout.  We do this to try to make sure each group has even numbers and like skillsets.  If you absolutely cannot attend the session that you are assigned, Please contact us at [email protected].  Please DO NOT just show up to whichever time works best for you.
